Wholly agree with what others have pointed out: the days do feel pretty short at first when you're limited and learning where things are and what to do and how but once you do, which doesn't take long, the days can easily seem far too long. I'm still a little torn about the seasons though, sometimes so far I think 14 days is too short (accustomed to the 28 days of Stardew Valley seasons) but other times, especially when I'm just itching for a change of scenery or really need/want a seasonal item, I start skipping ahead and sleeping a lot.

Agree that days should be longer. Stardew Valley has a mod that allows the player to set game speed in the SMAPI console. Pumpkin Days has a configuration setting for that. It is true that this will be subjective. So a range of possible settings is best. For me, I play using the longest day I can get, except for SV which allows you to slow time to zero with the mod.

The problem is.. the main game dynamic, having children and passing on the legacy, is already going to be so drawn out and difficult to access. Like the passage of time in the game is really unbalanced. If a day is even just 10 minutes long, and there are 14 days per season, and 4 seasons per year, that means every year will take about 9.5 hours. Say the adult life cycle of each generation is 40-50 years.... that’s 373 to 467 hours of gameplay per person. Obviously there is skipping/sleeping through days but I wish it wasn’t like.. at a point where I wanted to do that? But every day is the same. So I find myself skipping. And 300+ hours of the same thing per generation is a lot. If they made anything any longer it would obviously be even longer. Idk I just don’t see how it could work with the flow of the game when it’s already a bit grindy.
I’d like to emphasize I like the game 😅😅 I feel like I sound harsh but I’ve been thinking about the timing of everything in this game and since the whole draw to it over Stardew or many others with similar atmosphere or gameplay is the generational dynamic and choices having real consequences that pass between the generations. So having it be so long between generations is just kind of tough haha

I was hoping for a option under the setting that would allow the user to adjust the length of the day a bit like Stardew offers. It doesn’t let you get too crazy but allows a slight slow down of time passage. I feel like I barely get anything done and the day is over already.
