I think charcter costomization is a great idea the basic to start with
Hair and color
Skin color
Eyes color
Those would be good for when you have kids and see them look like you and a mix of your wife
Now outfit s yes I say lots so you can have maybe a tailor shop am one who loves to make outfits in games and would love to see it here
Even a lot of hairs later on to be a hair styles turly you can set a lot of jobs jest base on the costomization
It sounds like am asking a lot but those are jest ideas I hope you like them :)

the more customized i can get the better! i see myself playing games over and over (and over) again if i can make them look different each playthrough lol
i love the idea of being able to change your clothing (maybe crafting them, selling them like tools from the blacksmith?)
-
I wouldn't mind the starting character you give us, and a random one every generation. I would be more interested in customization of clothes that have attributes / perks .
-
Yes, individual customization is something I'd really appreciate! There definitely should be different skin and hair colors to choose from, but also I'd love different clothes and hair styles. Also, it would be great aswell if some clothes you can find or achieve from different tasks had perks. ^^

Glamour is always a big thing in any games I play so the more customization the better. Definitely hairstyle +color, eye color, and clothes would be the most defining point.

I feel like things that would be genetically affected (ie. skin color, hair color, maybe eye color) would be most important. That way you can see your children be a mix of you and your spouse. Even hair styles can sort of be passed down, one family favoring a particular hair style over others. A few basic clothing options would be nice, but not as big as the other stuff.
-
Same! I'd love to see genetics at work so your child is a mix of you and your spouse!
-
I think taking a Sims approach to this would be neat. You would customize your initial sprite down to skin tone and hair color (maybe a few other things people here have mentioned), then after that, future generations look like a mix of their parents. From there, allowing future generations to customize hair and clothing via barbershop and boutique is pretty par for games like this. It would be disappointing if I had to play a whole life cycle with someone in the same outfit and hairstyle day-in and day-out.
I also agree that clothing should be unisex. And that house customization and upgrading is essential.
Looks like everyone agrees that we want people to look different, have "genetics", and for children to resemble their parents and be different from one another as the generations pass. This is really important, since having multiple generations is a keystone of Kynseed. People want to feel like the children they're having are theirs, and products of choices they have made.

Personally, I feel like for this kind of game customization should be earned. I absolutely want it. I am that type of person who will spend HOURS on just on the create character screen and for some games it can be my favorite part of a game.
But for this game it somehow seems... wrong. Or more accurately, like cheating or maybe lore breaking. I love the character designs we already have. I love the intro with the twins holding hands. I love that the twins look like twins.
So to be able to change that without having to work for it feels like it would take me out of the world.
My personal feelings on it is that either those are things we have to get from Mr. Fairweather over time - or, if you really want to go for hard mode - those are things we have to curate within our child, either through conditions with our spouse or even conception - day, time, location, etc..., or even just wishes we make that may (or may not depending on your reputation with whatever entity you would work with).
I like the idea that the 12 year olds we have now is the "canon" look and that character customization should be built within the lore and not something that is done before the game really starts. I also like the idea that it can affect how those around you view you. Does your twin love or hate that you don't share the same red hair anymore? Is that person you fancy really shallow and will only date those with blue eyes? Does that one old woman - call her old fashion- think you're just being vain after your nose job? Etc...
Maybe not have it be that in depth. But it's always a bit of a pet peeve of mine when a game gives you a cinematic of your character and you don't look a thing like that. Or you look SOOOO different from your family that you're not sure if you really are from this family. And with this game there can actually be a canon reason for why you look different so I would like to see it work within that lore.
All that said, no matter how you approach character customization opening up, once it is open GIVE ME ALL THE THINGS!!!!! Like, if we have to give Mr. Fairweather a year of our life for each thing we change, my character is going to live to the ripe old age a 15 lol.

Hair color, skin color, clothes, maybe eyecolor. Definitely hairstyles. As many as you can make. I am very finicky about how my character looks.
