My browser is warning me that this is an unsecured site. Is it just being paranoid or is there something that you guys can do about this?
Maybe because this site is using http, not https.
What browser are you using? I'm using Google Chrome and it works fine!
That should indeed be it.
Https is mainly used for authentification as far as I know, so theoretically some hacker could build a site just like this one to fish your password and you'd have no way to tell.
This shouldn't alarm you too much though - just don't post your credit card information on this forum or anything like that - should be a given .
Your Browser is indeed being a little paranoid there.
Yeah, I can't really see myself posting anything here that would really be that dangerous. I do use a unique password for every site I'm registered on, so I'm not very concerned about that. Thanks for the putting me at ease over this, I just thought it was odd to get the warning.
Yup, you're all correct: it's due to not having HTTPS in our header. Still a bit annoying though, particularly for the less informed users out there who might be a smidge alarmed by the warning. I'll look into some possible options for sorting that out but in the meantime all should be well. The warning primarily applies to phishing risks but otherwise security is clamped down nice and tight on the forums.
